CNC Lathe Machinist - 1st Shift

Position Summary

The CNC Machinist will independently and safely set up and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis equipment. Essential Functions include:

  • Read and understand process travelers, setup journals, tooling sheets and operation sheets to produce complex finished product.
  • Make tooling adjustments and program offsets as necessary.
  • Able to accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments, including OD & ID indicating gaging, indicators, micrometers, height stands and verniers.
  • Perform daily TPM responsibilities.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations.
  • Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required.
  • Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes.
  • Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co-workers, team members and supervisors.

Experience And Education

  • Minimum of 5 years of aerospace CNC machining experience is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus, but extensive experience may substitute for education.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally walk, sit, climb or balance.
  • Ability to adjust focus, close vision, depth perception.
