Job Description

• Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to the Production Leader and perform as a highly skilled operator.
  • Work with defined workstation team, coordinate work activities, maintain compliance with procedures, perform quality control checks, and act as technical lead for first-level problems.
  • Schedule and nest the laser system, as well as perform first-level programming and maintenance tasks.
  • Lead daily operations of the Laser and Press Brake (1st Shift).
  • Lead technical direction and support for all shifts in the Laser and Press Brake Department, including interactions with Engineering and equipment vendors on nesting, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead, guide, and mentor new hires and train in this area.
  • Operate light, medium, and heavy equipment including fork truck, front end loader, and skid loader.
  • Interpret moderately complex drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied.
  • Set up and operate Trumpf Fiber Laser and Trumpf Press Brake.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to the leader, describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions.
  • Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply engineering change request process.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.

• Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of laser and press brake experience, minimum; 3 years preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience with part nesting software, 2 years preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic Laser and Brake operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Trumpf Equipment and Software a plus.
  • Strong experience with part fabrication.
  • Ability to be versatile and flexible in running open machines.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment.

Compensation

The approximate pay range for this position is $27-29/hour. Please note that the pay range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location.
