- $2,000 after 3 months of employment
- $3,000 after 9 months of employment
The qualified candidate can be hired for various CNC machinist positions focused on either the operation of CNC Lathes, Vertical Mills and/or Horizontal Mills.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety rules.
- Demonstrate proficiency in ability to operate either CNC Lathes, Vertical Mills, and/or Horizontal Mills.
- Read CNC programs and be familiar with G & M codes.
- Perform minor edits to CNC programs to improve efficiency and eliminate opportunities for error.
- Build (pre-set tooling) as needed for specific machining processes.
- Interpret engineering blueprints and written instructions.
- Apply concepts of geometrical tolerancing.
- Perform machining processes utilizing both empirical standard and metric system.
- Set up and use various measuring and inspection gages/instruments including ID and OD micrometers, bore gages, thread gages, etc.
- Control machining tolerances of 0.0005” – 0.005”.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED
- Ability to adhere to all safety requirements.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required.
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience required with proficiency in at least one of the following: Lathe, Vertical Mill, and/or Horizontal Mill.
- Proficiency in performing machine setups, tool selection, program offsets, G-codes, M-codes, troubleshooting, metrology, and blueprint reading.
- Strong knowledge of shop mathematics and the ability to interpret drawings (blueprints), written specifications, charts, and utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
- Physical Demand: Moderate, with some periodic heavier lifting required less than 50lbs.
- Ability to work with either written, oral, or graphic instructions.
- Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests as required to perform work duties.
- Achievement of the Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate at Silver Status required.
Skills
- Machining/CNC related associates degree, machining/programming certificates, apprentice program completions, course work in CNC machining related topics, etc. (Preferred but not required).
