CNC Burn Table Operator

The CNC Burn Table Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC burn tables, typically plasma or oxy-fuel cutting machines, to cut metal materials according to specifications. This role requires a combination of technical skills, including blueprint reading, CNC programming, and machine operation, as well as attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. This position is an Individual Contributor role and directly reports to the Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the burn table for production runs by selecting the correct programs, setting up torches, and ensuring proper alignment of materials.
• Safely operate the CNC burn table, monitoring the cutting process and making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Load and unload materials onto the burn table, often using overhead cranes or forklifts.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, remove burrs and slag, and ensure they meet specified quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the burn table to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols related to operating the burn table and handling materials.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, including material specifications and quality checks.
• Ensure all operations comply with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and housekeeping standards.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience running a CNC machine

Skills and Behaviors

Normal work environment will be shop or field which will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.

Schedule

Standard work schedule is 4 days a week (Monday–Thursday), 10 hours a day. Mandatory overtime on weekends based on production needs.
