About the role
We are looking for a Brake Press Operator to join our Greenwood, IN facility on a 3rd shift schedule. You will set up and operate a brake press to form parts in accordance with blueprint specifications and work instructions.
Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets blueprints and work operations sheets to determine appropriate operations to be performed
- Completes forming responsibilities which may include offsets, large radii, and standard bends
- Uses inspection gauges such as calipers (both dial and vernier), micrometers, squares, and height gauges to perform quality checks on parts as outlined by AQL and work instructions; reports dimensional problems to supervisor or set-up person
- Maintains and ensures accurate counts on completed parts and scrapped parts
- Completes production paperwork and makes required entries into company database
- Maintains tools, measuring instruments, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
- Reports all equipment problems or malfunctions to supervisor/manager immediately
- Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work areas at all times
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 year of related experience and/or training
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Mathematical skills to manage units of measure, fractions, decimals, and whole numbers
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operations sheets to determine set-up and operations to be formed
- Ability to set-up and operate Brake Press machine, input and maintain data in Traverse Manufacturing System
