CNC Advanced Machinist Lead (Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials)

Shift: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, Monday-Friday

About the Role

Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials is seeking an experienced CNC Advanced Machinist Lead to drive operational excellence in our Machining Center of Excellence (MCE). This key role bridges design and execution phases, mentoring machinists and shaping the future of advanced machining.

Responsibilities

• Organize daily machining activities, prioritize workloads, and ensure efficient workflow and labor utilization.
• Use data and experience to make timely, informed decisions supporting production and quality goals.
• Coordinate effectively with engineering, production, and quality teams for seamless project execution.
• Identify and implement process enhancements to reduce waste, optimize cycle times, and improve machining efficiency.
• Promote a culture of safety, following all company policies and supporting our “zero incidents” goal.
• Program CNC machines for new parts, focusing on high-precision and complex components.
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections using manual gauges; make real-time program edits to ensure quality compliance.
• Monitor customer (internal and external) orders to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with business objectives.
• Utilize ERP software to record job details, time, and production data for transparency and efficiency.
• Lead by example with integrity, respect, collaboration, and persistence; support teammates in maintaining 5S and quality standards.
• Perform additional machining or leadership tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience, including program writing, setup, and operation.
• Skilled in SolidWorks, Mastercam, and 5-axis programming and operation.
• Proven ability to set up and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Strong understanding of drawings, tolerances, and manual inspection techniques.
• Prior experience as a lead machinist or team leader (preferred).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Pay

Salary range: $36.00–$42.00 per hour. Factors such as scope of responsibilities, work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, and market considerations may influence the base pay offered. Geographic adjustments may apply if authorized to work outside the listed location.
