CNA, Wilkes-Barre Transitional Rehab Unit (PT weekends 7a-7p)
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse, the Certified Nurse Aide assists nurses in carrying out routine assignments, transporting and preparing residents and equipment and keeping equipment and areas in an orderly hygienic condition.
EDUCATION
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Completion of a Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Program is required.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Six months experience as a Nurse Aide in a geriatric setting is preferred.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Cleared by PA State Police criminal history check
- Enrolled on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry upon employment; OR successfully completes the required Nurse Aide course and competency examination within 120 days of employment
- Must be sixteen years of age or older (subject to child labor laws)
- CPR Certification required or must be obtained and maintained
Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required for effective interaction (including promoting and maintaining positive relationships) with patients, visitors or other hospital personnel.
Must adhere to nursing policies and standards and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Must be willing to rotate to other units as necessary.
