CNA / Universal Assistant PT - Assisted Living

Position Overview

We are seeking a positive, energetic individual who enjoys working with older adults. Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant who will provide CNA care and support additional Assisted Living duties, including meal service in the dining room, helping with social hour, bathing assistance, and other assigned tasks.

Schedule

This part‑time position averages 18–20 hours per week. The schedule includes two to three evenings per week from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., every other weekend from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., and PRN availability for an occasional overnight shift.

Essential Functions – Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

• Provide personal hygiene assistance, including dressing, grooming, skin care, full or partial bathing, and shower transfers.
• Document tenants’ conditions clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner.
• Notify the Director of Nursing of any noticeable changes in a tenant’s condition.
• Communicate with families, when appropriate, regarding a tenant’s condition and circumstances.
• Perform delegated nursing procedures (e.g., oral medications, eye drops) as instructed by the Director of Nursing, demonstrating competence.
• Schedule and/or conduct evening and weekend activities such as movies and games.
• Provide additional housekeeping or dietary services as needed.
• Follow safety and infection‑control policies to ensure a safe, organized, and clean environment, including emergency, wandering‑tenant, fire, severe‑weather, evacuation, universal precautions, and equipment‑operation procedures.
• Use proper body mechanics and promptly respond to calls and alarm systems.
• Keep tenant rooms neat and orderly.
• Attend and actively participate in work meetings, in‑services, and committees to stay current, maintain certification, and contribute to the highest level of tenant functioning.
• Complete quality‑assurance records as requested by management.

Essential Functions – Universal Assistant (UA)

• Set up and assist with meals/snacks, seat and serve tenants, and clean up after meal service.
• Assist CMAs with comfort checks on tenants, ensuring all needs are met.
• Clean and maintain dining‑room and kitchen items and areas, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing, scrubbing, and waste disposal.
• Clean and maintain all equipment, ensure it is in good working order, and notify the appropriate person for repairs as necessary.
