CNA Supervisor

Geneva Lake Manor is seeking a CNA Supervisor to provide positive leadership, mentor CNAs, collaborate with other departments, and work with the Director of Nursing on areas of concern and opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and verify completion of the comprehensive orientation checklist and oversee newly hired certified nursing assistants.
• Identify additional orientation needs of new hires prior to assignment.
• Partner with the Director of Nursing (DON) to promote best‑practice care, support continuing education, provide emotional support, and facilitate peer CNA coaching.
• Attend or designate others to attend Quality Improvement programs, including care planning meetings, QAPI, Safety Committee, Weight Committee, Fall Committee, Psychotropic Meetings, and other meetings assigned by the DON/Administrator.
• Conduct daily audits of overall CNA care and documentation (e.g., peri checks, bathing, transfers, etc.).
• Maintain a positive attitude and serve as a role model for employees and staff.
• Communicate and collaborate with the DON to support workflow and positive resident outcomes.
• Work with the DON to initiate and implement skills fairs or other education to support peer competency.
• Develop, maintain, and support the nursing assistant schedule.
• Provide initial orientation for all new nursing assistants, including first‑day orientation, training check‑ins, and 30‑, 60‑, and 90‑day follow‑ups.
• Collaborate with Human Resources and the DON on nursing assistant hiring needs, candidate screening, and recruitment.
• Ensure all required training is completed in coordination with the DON and Human Resources.
• Liaise with the CNA task force to support committee efforts and time allocation.
• Support and collaborate with the DON for CNA meetings.
• Collaborate with the DON to ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available.

Requirements

• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Must be a CNA for a minimum of 6 months.

• Maintain an exceptional attendance record according to employee handbook guidelines.
• Be current with all expected education.
• Dependable and able to work up to 16 hours on the floor to support critical needs (decision by the DON/Administrator).
