CNA (Skilled Nursing Facility) - Per Diem, Day Shift

Responsibilities

• Uses the wristband or photo card file to identify residents before administering treatments, serving meals, etc., as necessary.
• Records all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative and descriptive manner.
• Uses only authorized abbreviations established by this facility when recording information.
• Reports all changes in the resident’s condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical.
• Reports all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift that they occur.
• Makes resident comfortable (i.e., put to bed, get water, etc.).
• Inventsories and marks the resident’s personal possessions as instructed.
• Stores resident’s clothing.
• Aids residents with packing their personal possessions when they are being transferred to a new room, or when being discharged.
• Performs all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
• Fulfills work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks.
• Cooperates with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
• Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
• Meets with your shift’s nursing personnel, on a regularly scheduled basis, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
• Reports all complaints and grievances made by the resident.
• Weighs and measures residents as instructed.
• Measures and records temperatures, pulse, and respirations (TPRs), as instructed.
• Answers resident calls as promptly as feasible.
• Ensures that residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
• Assists with the application of nonsterile (moist and dry) warm/cold compresses.
• Assists in preparing the resident for a physical examination.

Requirements

• Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Licenses/Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Preferred

Pay Range : The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $30.01. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
