Aegis Therapies, one of the nation’s leading providers of rehabilitation and wellness services, is hiring a Wellness Instructor in Restorative Care to join our supportive team in Aberdeen, SD.
About the role
As a CNA/Wellness Instructor for Restorative Care, you will report to the Director of Rehabilitation/Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team to provide expertise in delivering wellness, fitness, and exercise programs. Full restorative training is provided onsite—no prior restorative experience is necessary (CNA Certification required).
- Assist in the restorative care of patients as directed
- Exclusive restorative responsibilities including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, and splint/prosthesis care
- Limited or no exposure to less desirable tasks often associated with CNA positions
Responsibilities
- Assist in patient treatment or set-up under supervision of a licensed therapist, as permitted by state practice acts, federal regulations, or payor requirements
- Provide non-skilled service delivery pre- or post-therapy intervention to support patient progress, in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in in-service training programs at the treatment location
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area and department
- Handle administrative and scheduling tasks
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies and equipment
- Adhere to infection control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees, and maintain confidentiality per company and federal requirements
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with treatment location and department procedures, rules, and regulations
- Ensure proper operation of equipment by following company procedures and manufacturer’s instructions
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice
- Specialty certification as a personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist, or similar area (preferred)
- Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations (preferred)

Pay
Up to $17.50 per hour
Schedule
Up to 40 hours per week, with weekend rotation
