CNA Restorative Aide

About the role

Assists patients to achieve or maintain their highest practicable level of ADL function through consistent, structured, and controlled re-teaching and retraining techniques to promote increased participation in activities of daily living.

This is a Monday through Friday position.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignment from supervisor and performs duties in accordance with each patient’s detailed plan of care, providing care to patients who are presently receiving restorative ADL nursing interventions.
• Receives training from therapists and supervisors on the restorative techniques and performs techniques.
• Checks patients in section regularly.
• Answers call lights promptly.
• Follows through with patient problems or needs by delivering care or reporting to Supervisor depending upon level of ability and nature of patient need.
• Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.

Requirements

• Successful completion of State Approved Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program.
• Name must appear on State Registry as Nursing Assistant in good standing (successful completion of restorative training once hired).
• Ability to communicate with patients and nursing staff.
• Ability to read and write, desirable.
• One-year experience as Nursing Assistant.
