CNA/RA - Independent Living (East Madison)

Oakwood Village is expanding and has an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates to join our Prairie Ridge senior living community team as a C.N.A/R.A. This role involves personal care of residents, maintaining the resident environment, performing special treatments and procedures, and reporting and recording information.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, personal laundry, management of incontinence, housekeeping, and dining services.
• Provides health services to meet residents' physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual needs and preferences, including transfers, use of mechanical lifting devices, feeding, etc.
• Responsible for the distribution of medications and performance of prescribed treatments under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following state regulations. Completes medication error forms as required.
• Responds to emergencies by providing first aid treatment, notifying emergency personnel, physicians, families, and appropriate staff. Completes incident report forms as needed.
• Reviews and documents vital signs, monitors for changes in resident condition or behavior, and reports significant changes to the Health Coordinator/RN Supervisor or Program Director.
• Assists in providing and performing activities for small and large groups of residents, including informing residents of activity schedules and encouraging attendance.
• Assists in transporting residents within the Oakwood campus and arranges for medical appointments and transportation. Monitors appointment schedules and reminds residents.
• Participates in developing and implementing residents' individual service plans as assigned.

• Keeps information confidential, including PHI, and adheres to all HIPAA regulations.

• Efficiently organizes, prioritizes, and performs a variety of duties accurately.

• Willingness and ability to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Completion of required CBRF and Oakwood training within time frames dictated by state regulation and Oakwood policy preferred.
• Prior experience working with the elderly in an assisted living environment is desired.
• Minimum age requirement is 18 years old.
