CNA - Providence Alaska Medical Center

Under direct supervision, this position is accountable to the bedside RN and charge nurse to facilitate a safe and secure environment for the patient, family, and providers in the department. Responsibilities include completing duties delegated for the shift and maintaining clear communication between the needs of the patient through the RN and Charge Nurse. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard-free, clean environment that facilitates patient-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Support bedside RNs and charge nurses in ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, families, and providers.
• Complete delegated duties for the shift while maintaining clear communication about patient needs.
• Maintain a hazard-free, clean environment to support patient-focused care.

Requirements

• Completed training program for Certified Nurse Aides (CNA) or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience.
• Completion of a Medical Terminology course required or successful completion of the hospital’s Medical Terminology test within 90 days of hire.
• Alaska Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association certification within 30 days of hire.

Pay

• Base pay range: $21.16 – $30.26 per hour.
• Additional compensation may include shift differentials: Nights ($4.00/hr), Weekends ($2.20/hr).
• Up to $2,500 hiring bonus for eligible full-time external hires meeting required qualifications and conditions.

Schedule

• Full-time position with (3) 12-hour shifts per week.
• Shifts available: Night and Day, based on current needs.
• Float Pool / Progressive Care Unit / 3W Ortho / 4N Surgical / 5N Oncology / Mother Baby.
