About the role
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Personal Support Specialist (PSS) provides compassionate non-medical homecare to veterans, assisting with daily activities and ensuring safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers, and ambulation using aids like canes, walkers, or wheelchairs.
- Perform light housekeeping and meal preparation in collaboration with clients.
- Report unusual events and respond promptly in emergencies.
- Complete all duties outlined in the Client Service Plan, adapting as needed per client needs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Current, valid state license as a CNA or PSS.
- At least one year of experience in healthcare or homecare settings.
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Must be at least 18 years old, pass background checks, and have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
- Experience with Hoyer lifts and physical endurance to perform essential tasks.
- Ability to perform job functions with or without accommodations.
