Overview

Pediatric Specialty Care at Lancaster is hiring Nurse Technicians to provide hands-on care and daily support to medically fragile children in a warm, home-like residential setting. CNA or Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required. We welcome candidates with relevant healthcare, caregiving, pediatric, disability-support, or personal-care experience.

More Than a Traditional CNA Role

Pediatric Specialty Care at Lancaster is a 34-bed residential care facility supporting children with complex medical, developmental, and daily-living needs. As a Nurse Technician, you will work alongside nurses, respiratory therapists, therapy professionals, and other members of the care team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist children with bathing, dressing, toileting, positioning, mobility, and other activities of daily living
  • Support safe transfers using beds, wheelchairs, lifts, and other assistive equipment
  • Help prepare children for meals and provide feeding assistance according to individual care plans
  • Obtain vital signs and perform additional clinical support duties after training and competency validation
  • Absorb and perform range-of-motion activities and ostomy care within the position’s approved scope
  • Observe children closely and promptly report changes in condition to the supervising nurse
  • Document care, meals, activities, and other required information in the medical record
  • Support activities that promote physical, emotional, developmental, and social well-being
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, comfortable, and age-appropriate living environment
  • Collaborate with nursing, therapy, respiratory, activities, and other team members
  • Assist with transportation and accompany children to appointments when assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Current, valid driver’s license
  • Patience, empathy, flexibility, and an interest in supporting children with a range of medical and developmental needs
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 35 pounds as required by the position
