About the Location

Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. The facility is a 122-bed acute care hospital offering emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical, and outpatient services. The area features weekly farmers markets, farm-to-fork dining, scenic landscapes for hiking and biking, and beaches just fifteen minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay.

About the Role

Provides personal nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN). Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including self-care needs, and reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN. This position is represented by SEIU and operates on a full-time, 12-hour shift basis within the Med/Surg Acute 1 department.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition, hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints, and restorative care.
  • Takes vital signs, including pulse and blood pressure.
  • Assists patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Performs clerical duties, including routing patient reports and maintaining unit organization to ensure smooth operations and meet deadlines.
  • Provides assessment data to the certified nurse within the scope of practice (e.g., vital signs, patient verbal and nonverbal responses).
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy (required).
  • Phlebotomy Certification (preferred).
  • Audiometry and vision training or a certificate from CHDP (preferred).

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $27.04 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.

Organizational Notes
