CNA II --Part Time - 24 weekly - 48 bi weekly - Day/Evening Shift - 9A-9P Shift (UH ER/Elkton)

About the role

The Emergency Department at ChristianaCare Union Hospital is seeking a Emergency Department CNA 2.

Responsibilities

• Performing, and accurately recording vital signs, Accu-checks, bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobilizing patients.
• Performing successful finger sticks on patients, following all standard laboratory safety policies.
• Performing defined procedures on point of care instrumentation and EKGs.
• Responding to patient crisis and initiating interventions within the scope of responsibilities and notifying RN.
• Ordering entry into Meditech.
• Communicating to patients, employees, and physicians using courteous verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrating proficiency using required computer skills to document in the electronic medical record.
• Performing Unit Clerk duties such as, answering phones, entering charges, calling provider consults, setting up patient transportation, assisting staff with clerical needs and audits and coordinating maintenance of unit supplies.
• Scheduling and frequent contact with Provider offices.
• Completing required in-service education.
• Performing assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reporting to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients, and visitors.

Requirements

• A high school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous patient care experience including taking vital signs.
• Nursing student who has successfully completed clinical hours or completion of a Certified Nursing Licensed CNA in the state of Maryland or other US state required.
• Licensed CNA's are required to perform provision of nursing assistant care within scope of practice including IV insertions.
• BLS Certification required.
• Licensed CNA in the state of Maryland/Obtain Maryland License prior to start date to practice IV insertions.

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69

Schedule

Part Time, Full Time 24 hours per Week/48 bi-weekly, Evening/Midnight 12 hour shift from 9:00am - 9:00pm for the Emergency Department Unit at Cecil Campus - Union Hospital. Rotating Weekends and Holidays as per department guidelines.
