About the role

Make Every Moment Matter as a Hospice Aide (CNA)! Altus Hospice is seeking a Per Diem Hospice Aide (CNA) to join our compassionate team, providing hands‑on care that brings comfort and dignity to patients at the end of life. You will work closely with our nursing team to ensure each patient’s physical, emotional, and personal needs are met with respect, empathy, and professionalism.

Coverage Area: Victoria and surrounding county.

Schedule

Per Diem, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Days and hours varied based on needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized care by following the plan of care to ensure patient comfort and well‑being.
• Attend promptly to requests of patients and their family/caregiver, offering compassionate support.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, changing bedding, clothing, and shampooing.
• Emphasize exceptional customer service, going above and beyond to ensure optimal patient satisfaction.
• Support families by sharing knowledge, guiding and reassuring them in caring for their terminally ill loved ones.
• Maintain accurate documentation to meet agency and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Current, unencumbered CNA certificate in the state.
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a CNA in an acute care or long‑term care setting; hospice experience a plus.
• Current CPR certification if state‑mandated.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and dependable transportation.

Pay

$17.00 – $20.00 per hour (average pay range). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and specific responsibilities, and will be discussed at the conclusion of the interview process.
