Overview
Altus Hospice is seeking a Per Diem Hospice Aide (CNA) to provide hands‑on care that brings comfort and dignity to patients at the end of life. The role works closely with the nursing team to meet each patient’s physical, emotional, and personal needs with respect, empathy, and professionalism. Schedule: Per Diem. Coverage Area: Waco, Temple and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities
- Provide personalized care by following the plan of care and promptly attending to patient and family/caregiver requests.
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, changing bedding, clothing, and shampooing.
- Emphasize exceptional customer service to ensure optimal patient satisfaction.
- Support families by sharing knowledge, guiding, and assisting them in caring for their terminally ill loved ones.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the patient’s home and within agency and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Current, unencumbered CNA certification in the state.
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a CNA in an acute care or long‑term care setting (hospice experience a plus).
- Current CPR certification if state‑mandated.
- Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to dependable transportation.
Pay
$17.00 – $20.00 per hour (average pay range). Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and the specific responsibilities of the position, and will be discussed at the conclusion of the interview process.
