CNA Hospice House - PRN (Nights)

About the role

Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work on a PRN basis at the Port Charlotte location. Since 1980, Tidewell Hospice has served families across southwest Florida with compassionate, dignified hospice care. Shifts are 8:00 PM – 8:30 AM (nights) at the Port Charlotte, Arcadia, Venice, and Village on the Isle Hospice Houses. Candidates must commit to 64 hours per month.

Responsibilities

• Supports and carries out the organization’s mission, vision, and values consistently.
• Performs only those personal care and home maintenance activities contained in a written assignment (Hospice Aide Plan of Care) by a health professional employee.
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions, incidents, or behavior of a patient and/or patient/family interaction to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
• Recognizes the role of the Hospice Aide and works within that scope of practice at all times.
• Maintains utmost respect for confidentiality in the care of the patient and family.

Requirements

• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• One to three years of training and/or experience; one year of experience in a long-term care facility strongly preferred.
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License only if the colleague chooses to drive themselves when reassigned to another facility. If an alternative means of transportation is chosen, this is not required. All transportation costs are at the colleague’s own expense, except for mileage reimbursement when traveling between facilities on company time.
