Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) PRN Nights

JourneyCare Hospice is hiring an experienced Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN night shift role in Barrington, IL. This position offers the opportunity to provide meaningful end-of-life care in a supportive team environment.

About the role

Location: Barrington, IL
Position type: PRN (as-needed)
Minimum requirement: 2 shifts per month (additional shifts available and preferred)

Pay

Up to $46.63/hour – offer based on experience
Shift differentials: +$2.50/hour (weeknights), +$5.00/hour (weekend nights)

Schedule

Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled hospice nursing care, including patient assessment, admissions, and care planning
• Manage a hospice caseload and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
• Assess physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and families
• Communicate with physicians and care teams to ensure continuity of care
• Perform nursing interventions and follow physician-directed treatment plans
• Conduct follow-up visits and update patient care plans as needed
• Provide end-of-life care, including clinical pronouncement and family support
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards

Requirements

• Hospice experience required (applicants without hospice experience will not be considered)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
