CNA - Hospice - FT

About the role

Sanford Health is dedicated to providing quality end-of-life care through its specially trained Hospice team, focusing on supporting patients and their loved ones with compassion and understanding.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks as delegated and indicated on the care plan for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Understand the basic elements of body functioning and the physical and emotional changes including those which occur in the death and dying process
• Deliver age appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the patient per care plan
• Assist patients in daily living activities such as dressing and undressing, bathing and eating
• Demonstrate good interpersonal skills, being courteous and caring
• Apply medical terminology and organizational policies and procedures
• Perform detailed work correctly and function under stress
• Work with growth and development needs of all client and patient population

Requirements

• High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
• Completion of a 75-hour nurse assistant course required
• Registered as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and registered in the applicable state's Department of Health
• Obtain and subsequently maintain required department specific competencies and certifications
• Valid driver's license required

Facility: 12th Kiwanis, Sioux Falls, SD. Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts. Job Schedule: Full time. Weekly Hours: 40.00. Salary Range: $17.50 - $25.50.
