CNA/HHA - Home Healthcare - Brooksville

About the role

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) at Family Life Care, you will play a vital role in helping our patients by providing compassionate and professional care in the comfort of their own home. You will have the opportunity to choose from various assignments, such as long-term care or assisting with recovery from an injury or illness. We work with you to build your work schedule around your needs and serve our entire community, from children to senior citizens, with a special focus on assisting veterans.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Prepare meals and ensure clients receive nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs.
• Perform patient observation to monitor changes in health status and report any concerns to healthcare providers.
• Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness in the client's living environment by performing everyday light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
• Provide memory care support for clients with cognitive impairments, ensuring safety and promoting cognitive engagement.

Requirements

• Current Florida CNA license (75-hours) or Home Health Aide Certificate.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Driver’s License and Vehicle Insurance.
• Current TB test with negative results (in the last year) and Health Statement (within the past 6 months).
• Ability to pass a Level II background check.
• 7 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) required, including:
  • 3-Hour Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative.
  • 2-Hour Assistance with Self-Administration of Medications.
  • Communication with Cognitively Impaired Clients.
  • Resident Rights.
  • HIV, Infection Control.
  • Reporting Elder/Abuse/Neglect/Exploitation.
