About the role

The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides resident‑centered care and daily living assistance at GSS ND Oakes in Oakes, ND (213 9th St N, Oakes, ND 58474). Working under the supervision of a registered nurse, the NA supports residents’ physical and psychological needs, follows infection‑prevention protocols, and contributes to a caring, family‑oriented team in a 12‑hour night‑shift, full‑time position.

Responsibilities

• Provides resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Delivers age‑appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs per the care plan.
• Follows infection prevention and control policies and uses personal protective equipment as required.
• Assists with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, psychosocial support, and other personal care.
• Assists residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment; provides range of motion and passive exercises.
• Completes food preparation and dining tasks, creating a positive dining experience.
• Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
• Aids providers and nursing staff with procedures when needed.
• Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Communicates changes in resident condition and care concerns to the charge nurse.
• Collects non‑invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry services to keep resident living areas clean and operational.
• Assists with and documents wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation.
