Pay

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. Additional $0.50/hour for floating to different facilities and departments.

This is an hourly position.

About the role

The PCT/CNA-Float provides appropriate, safe basic care to patients, including taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observing patients for physical or emotional changes. Other duties include recording information in patient charts, communicating with the Patient Care Team for continuity of care, and providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties vary by department. This position requires floating to various departments within the medical center and traveling to different OSF facilities (Peru, Princeton, Mendota, Ottawa, and Streator).

Responsibilities

• Provide safe basic care to patients, including taking vital signs.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Collect specimens and observe patients for physical or emotional changes.
• Record pertinent information in patient charts.
• Communicate with Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide constant supervision to patients as needed.
• Perform duties that vary according to department expectations.
• Float to various departments within the medical center.
• Travel to different OSF facilities (Peru, Princeton, Mendota, Ottawa, and Streator).

Requirements

• CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS).
• Willingness to travel to different OSF facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• 6 months of experience in a clinical healthcare environment.
• 6 months of experience supporting physical, emotional, and psycho-social needs of patients.
