Job Summary

As our CNA at St. John's, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities. Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You’re diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions, and accept coaching well. You know we’re all continuously trying to become better care providers and you’re eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic daily life activities for patients
• Provide fresh bed linens and check patients' vitals
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
• Operate common office equipment including computers
• Support and promote the provision of quality patient care
• Participate as a team member in the systems functions and activities of the unit/department

Requirements

• Current AHA CPR certification (CT CPRBLS)
• Current CNA Certification (CT NA)
• High School education or equivalent
• Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant program
• Six (6) months recent hospital experience as CNA
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to operate common office equipment including computers
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures
