About the Role

Anchor Post Acute is a 120-bed skilled nursing & rehab facility located in Aiken, SC. We are seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with daily nursing care and services according to each resident's individualized care plan.

What You'll Do

  • Identify residents before administering treatments, serving meals, etc., using wristband or photo card file
  • Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative, descriptive manner
  • Report all changes in resident's condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical
  • Report all accidents and incidents observed on the shift that they occur
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident protected health information and report suspected violations
  • Perform only those nursing care procedures that you have been trained to do
  • Prepare resident rooms for receiving new residents (bed made, name tags up, admission kit available)
  • Greet and escort residents to their room, introduce to roommates and other personnel
  • Inventory and mark resident's personal possessions; store resident's clothing
  • Assist residents with packing personal possessions when transferring or discharging
  • Transport residents to new rooms or to receiving area; assist with loading/unloading vehicles
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and a calm environment
  • Participate in shift nursing report upon reporting for duty
  • Make beds, put extra covers on beds as requested
  • Measure and record temperatures, pulses, and respirations (TPRs) of residents as instructed
  • Weigh and measure residents as instructed
  • Ensure residents unable to call for help are checked frequently
  • Answer resident calls promptly
  • Check residents routinely to ensure personal care needs are being met
  • Assist residents with identifying food arrangements (location, temperature, etc.)
  • Record resident's food/fluid intake; report changes in eating habits to supervisor
  • Keep residents' water pitchers clean and filled with fresh water on each shift
  • Perform after meal care (remove trays, clean resident's hands, face, clothing, etc.)
  • Assist residents with daily functions including dental/mouth care, bathing, hair combing, dressing and undressing
  • Keep residents dry by changing gown, clothing, and linens when wet or soiled
  • Assist residents in preparing for medical tests (lab work, x-ray, therapy, dental, etc.)
  • Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
  • Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed
  • Assist in preparing residents for physical examinations
  • Observe and report presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns to prevent bedsores
  • Report injuries of unknown source, including skin tears
  • Observe disoriented and comatose residents; record and report data as instructed
  • Perform special treatments as instructed
  • Immediately notify supervisor of any resident leaving/missing from the facility
  • Use only equipment you have been trained to use; report defective equipment to supervisor
  • Honor resident's refusal of treatment requests and report such requests to supervisor

Requirements

  • Active South Carolina Nurse Aide Certification
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Assistant Program
  • Current CPR Certification
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum 10th grade education
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of the state

Pay & Schedule

  • $15-$19/hour based on experience
  • $4/hour Shift Differential for Saturday and Sunday (7a-7p)
  • 12-Hour Shifts Available Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
