CNA - CVPH Skilled Nursing Facility

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to residents, including resident hygiene and activities of daily living, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform direct care activities permitted to be delegated to unlicensed personnel under the New York State Practice Act, applicable regulations, hospital policies, New York State Long Term Care regulations, and standards established by Nursing Services.
• Perform support functions for the unit/department as assigned by the appropriate Registered Nurse and/or manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required, or must be obtained within two (2) years of hire.
• Completion of a New York State-approved Long Term Care training program and current New York State Nurse Aide certification required.
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Must meet all pre-employment screening and physical requirements.
• Demonstrate the training and competency necessary to attend to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the residents for whom care is being provided.
• Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date; following this period, all qualified applicants, including internal and external candidates, will be considered equally.
