About the Program

Southern Utah Veterans Home in Ivins, Utah is offering a paid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training class. Classes begin September 14th with new hire orientation on September 9th. Participants earn $12/hour while studying. The class typically includes 10-12 students and has a 100% pass rate.

This program provides comprehensive training and hands-on experience to prepare students for a career in long-term care and healthcare services, specifically serving veterans.

Responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in all classroom and clinical training sessions.
• Learn and demonstrate basic nursing skills including patient care, hygiene assistance, and vital signs monitoring.
• Provide compassionate care to veterans and residents under supervision.
• Maintain a clean and safe learning environment.
• Complete all required coursework, exams, and clinical hours to meet certification requirements.
• Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (must be 18 or older).
• Strong desire to work in healthcare and assist veterans.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform patient care tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Pass a background check and meet health screening requirements.

Pay

• Trainees earn $12/hour during the class.
• Licensed CNAs start at $20.42/hour.

Additional Information

Upon successful completion of the CNA class, participants will be eligible to take the state certification exam and may have opportunities for employment at the Southern Utah Veterans Home or other healthcare facilities.
