About the Hospital

Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Massachusetts, located in New Bedford, MA, is a 90-bed Critical Care Hospital providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Our patients often require additional critical care for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation, and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Provide assistance to licensed nursing personnel in the provision of patient care.
• Document activities of daily living and maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment.
• Utilize basic infection control procedures, nutrition, and fluid intake skills.
• Recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor required.

Qualifications

• Current, valid, and active certification to practice as a Nursing Assistant/Nursing Aide in the state of employment preferred.
• Multi-Skilled Technician (MST), Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification, or currently enrolled in a Nursing program with at least one clinical rotation preferred.
• Acute care/LTAC experience preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
• Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
