Responsibilities

• Serve as caregiver to residents during scheduled work period in long‑term care (LTC)
• Provide resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under supervision of a registered nurse (RN)
• Deliver age‑appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs of residents per care plan
• Follow infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use
• Assist with basic health care needs including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care
• Assist residents in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques and equipment; provide range of motion and passive exercises
• Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining while creating a positive dining experience
• Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate
• Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed
• Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary
• Communicate residents’ changing conditions and care‑related concerns to charge nurse
• Collect non‑invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational
• Assist with documentation for wellness and recreational programs and encourage resident participation
