CNA, Certified Nursing Assistant - PT Straight Weekends
Facility: GSS MN Jackson Ctr • Location: Jackson, MN • Part-time, weekend shift • 16 hours per week • $5,000 sign-on bonus available
About the role
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves as caregiver to residents during the scheduled work period in long-term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of residents as per care plans. Follows infection prevention and control policies and uses Personal Protective Equipment. Accountable as a member of the nursing team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic health care needs and daily living activities including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs
- Provide psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents
- Assist residents in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment
- Provide range of motion and passive exercises
- Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience
- Assist residents with meals and snacks; provide water and supplements as appropriate
- Aid providers and nursing staff with procedures as needed
- Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary information
- Communicate residents’ changing conditions and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents in maintaining clean living areas
- Assist with and document wellness and recreational programs; encourage resident participation
- May participate in departmental or organizational committees and task forces
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 16
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of hire by being enrolled in a training program or obtaining certification through Endorsement
- CNA training and certification provided by facility
- Satisfactorily complete yearly department-specific competency testing and maintain continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually)
- Maintain all department-specific required certifications
- When applicable, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry
- If required by role, must qualify as a Sanford Category II Driver: valid driver’s license, motor vehicle report, and medically qualified to perform essential driving functions per Sanford Driving Policy
- Must have a Minnesota Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license
Pay
Salary range: $19.00 – $25.50 per hour • $5,000 sign-on bonus available
Schedule
- Part-time: 16 hours per week
- Weekend shift: 8-hour day shifts with straight weekend shift differential
