Responsibilities
- Provides direct care to patients in accordance with their individualized care plans
- Affords assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, oral care, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Affords assistance with transportation and transfer of patients, ensuring comfort and safety during movement
- Maintains monitoring and recording of vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to the nursing team
- Completes accuchecks as directed
- Affords accurate and prompt documentation
- Affords support for patient hygiene and comfort measures, including turning and repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers
- Affords support for patient feeding and hydration needs, adhering to dietary restrictions and assisting with mealtime activities
- Responds promptly to call lights and patient requests
- Offers emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions
- Maintains a clean and organized patient environment, including changing bed linens, stocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness of patient rooms, and preparing rooms for admissions and transfers
- Adheres to infection control protocols and hospital policies and procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and promote positive patient outcomes
- Completes hourly rounds to assigned patients and anticipates patient needs
Requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in DE
- BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification
- High school diploma preferred OR current high school student with CNA license (work schedule in compliance with the State of Delaware Department of Labor Regulations)
Pay
Entry USD $18.25/Hr. Max USD $28.29/Hr.
