CNA / Certified Nursing Assistant - Hospice
About the role
Abode Hospice of Colorado is seeking a passionate, dedicated Hospice CNA to join their team. The position involves providing 1:1 care, monitoring and reporting changes in the patient's condition, assisting with mobility, medication assistance, emotional support, light housekeeping, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Help with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and repositioning.
- Mobility: Assist with ambulation, transfers, ROM exercises, and safe equipment use.
- Medication Assistance: Help with self-administered medications per state regulations.
- Emotional Support: Offer companionship and comfort to patients and families.
- Light Housekeeping: Change linens, assist with meals, and maintain a clean space.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Team Participation: Collaborate with hospice interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications
- Minimum of six months experience including providing personal care.
- Must be 18+ years of age.
- Complete a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training, 16 of which must be completed prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training.
- Possess and maintain current CPR certification.
- Understand hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill.
- Able to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
- Able to work with little direct supervision.
- Able to handle death/dying.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
