Hospice Aide/CNA

About the Role

As the Home and Community Based Services Aide at Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, a part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, you will provide support, assistance with personal hygiene, and household functions to help individuals remain in their own homes. This role is dedicated to creating meaningful connections with patients, their families, and the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation, and medication reminders.
• Support household tasks, meal preparation, and accompany clients to appointments or errands as needed.
• Monitor and document client condition, vital signs, and incidents; maintain confidentiality and use the EVV system.
• Ensure a safe environment, operate medical equipment properly, and respond promptly to client needs.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of the client’s age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.

Requirements

• Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation.
• Current CNA certification or successful completion of a training program.
• Current First Aid Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• 6+ months of home care experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours and independently.

Pay

The hourly pay for this role ranges from $16.00 to $21.35 per hour based on full-time employment, depending on factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
