About the Role
The Central Supply / Transportation CNA plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and staffing functions within the skilled nursing facility. This position is responsible for coordinating the procurement, distribution, and inventory management of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring that all departments are adequately stocked to provide uninterrupted patient care. Additionally, the coordinator manages staffing schedules, assignments, and communications to optimize workforce allocation and meet fluctuating patient care demands. The role requires close collaboration with clinical teams to maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies. Ultimately, the coordinator ensures operational efficiency by balancing supply availability with staffing needs, directly contributing to the quality and safety of patient services.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- An associate degree or higher in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Active certification for Nurse Aide or Medication Aide in the state of Texas
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clinical staff, vendors, and management
- Experience working in skilled nursing or long-term care environment
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements related to supply and staffing
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and their integration with supply and staffing workflows
- Valid Driver's License with good record
Responsibilities
- Manage the ordering, receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment to various departments
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to prevent shortages or overstock situations
- Cook up staffing schedules, including shift assignments, coverage planning, and communication with clinical and support staff
- Collaborate with department managers to address staffing needs, resolve scheduling conflicts, and support workforce planning
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies related to supply management and staffing
- Utilize supply chain and scheduling software to track inventory levels and staff availability, generating reports for management review
- Respond promptly to urgent supply requests and staffing changes to support continuous patient care operations
- Train and support staff on supply handling procedures and scheduling protocols to maintain operational consistency
- Transport residents to appointments as needed
