CNA Cardio Thoracic

Overview

UNIT OVERVIEW: Welcome to Cardio Thoracic! We are a large 69 bed unit that is heart and lung focused. Our unit is fast paced and we have great team work and a large leadership team for support. On cardio thoracic we provide care to a wide variety of diagnosis that include but are not limited to chest pain, heart rate/rhythm issues, COPD, heart failure, and post cardiac and thoracic surgeries.

Position Summary

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

Qualifications

• CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS
• REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
• Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients

Benefits & Compensation

Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position. Shift Differentials 3rd Shift: $2.25/hourWeekend: $1.75/hour Sign-On Bonus Eligible! $1,500 Sign On Bonus with a 1-year work commitment. Must be of legal age to sign a contract, which is at least 18 years old, to be eligible for a sign on bonus. Candidates under 18 years old may still be considered for the position but are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.
