About the role

The Veterans' Home of Wyoming seeks a Certified Nurse Aide to provide care in a home-like setting. This position is eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonus for new hires.

Responsibilities

• Supports individuals with disabilities in various settings.
• Assists with activities of daily living and promotes community inclusion.
• Acts as an advocate for clients, communicating their needs and goals.
• Plans and prepares for group and special event programming.
• Documents progress towards group and intervention participation.
• Participates in treatment team meetings and shift change reports.

Requirements

• Prior experience in healthcare, preferably in Human Services, is preferred.
• A current WY CNA certification is required.
• Knowledge of client protocols and interventions of therapy.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and practice partner.
• Knowledge of specialized sensory programs and motivational techniques.
• Experience in recreation and social programming.
• Ability to lift medical/patient equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Healthcare.
• No prior experience required.
• Preference is given to individuals with 6 months or more experience in healthcare.

Skills

• Knowledge of client protocols and interventions of therapy.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and practice partner.
• Knowledge of specialized sensory programs and motivational techniques.
• Experience in recreation and social programming.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
