About the role
Certerra has an immediate opening for a full-time Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Inspector in Salt Lake City, UT. This position is ideal for someone interested in a fast-paced consulting environment, comfortable with some travel, and capable of working collaboratively. You will apply your testing and inspection expertise to a variety of projects, with a background in construction inspection services and experience evaluating soils, concrete, and asphalt. Experience in airfield pavement construction or landfill construction quality control/assurance is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Field and laboratory testing of construction materials
- Maintain required certifications
- Lift 40-50 pounds as needed
- Coordinate with clients and Certerra/Insight Group engineering and professional staff
- Travel to client facilities as needed
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and document findings
- Perform basic data analysis to verify accuracy before submission to the Project Manager
- Communicate information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed
- Assist higher-level technicians on complex tasks
- Maintain assigned equipment and ensure proper calibration
- Follow safety rules and practices for all projects
- Maintain quality standards on all projects
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License (Required)
- ACI Certifications (Preferred)
- Experience in construction inspection services, including evaluation of soils, concrete, and asphalt
- Report writing and computer skills
