About the role
The NORAD Operations Group, selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), supports the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).
Responsibilities
- Serves as a backup to lead computer systems administrator and provide guidance, direction, and training to others in the group.
- Build and/or debug complicated hardware and software to correct difficult problems using technically advanced problem-solving skills.
- Develop and implement system documentation and operating procedures.
- Identifies and corrects processing anomalies.
- Install operating system software, patches, and upgrades.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Configure, optimize, fine-tune, and monitor operating system software and hardware.
- Perform system backups, recovery, and server builds.
- Provide systems administrator support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces for computer systems.
- Manage file servers and network access to include analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting system anomalies.
- Perform and provide server, workstation, and system expertise including on-site and off-site travel.
- Cook up and schedule system upgrades and maintenance.
- Provide guidance, direction, and training to others in the group.
- Serve as backup to other computer systems administrators.

- Order replacement of new hardware and software including warranty claims.
Requirements
- Active TS with SCI eligibility is required.
- 5 years or more of general work experience.
- 2 years or more of directly related experience.
- Current DoD IAT Level II or higher (Sec+).
- Working knowledge and system administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments; Microsoft Windows operating systems (OS) administration and associated hardware; VMWare and system visualization; and Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies.
- Red-hat or Linux experience/knowledge.
- Understanding virtual machine and Remote Desktop.
- Windows System Administration experience or Background with SPADOC or space situational analysis/space orbital.
Qualifications
- AS degree in computer field.
- VCP/VCAP.
- Cyber and Space Operations experience.
- Basic understanding of network topologies and protocols.
- Remedy trouble ticket experience.

Pay
This position is expected to pay $85,000-$100,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
