About the Role
Provides basic medical assistance to physicians, providers, and nurses by preparing patients according to area-specific policies and procedures. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, chart preparation, phlebotomy, procedure assistance, and lab sample collection. Utilizes department-specific computer systems for entry and retrieval of patient data.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current certification or registration from an accredited institution (e.g., AAMA, NHA, AMT)
- Less than one year of previous work-related experience
- Bilingual preferred

About The Team
St. Joseph’s Health officially opened the Totowa Health Campus, a 140,000-square-foot facility integrating outpatient services such as primary and urgent care, diagnostic imaging (MRI and CT), radiology, lab services, and pharmacy. The campus also houses medical and surgical physician offices, including cardiology, urology, and gynecology, along with specialty centers like rehabilitation and physical therapy. A Comprehensive Cancer Center will open on the campus in October.
Pay
St. Joseph’s Health provides a salary range to comply with New Jersey law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, and skills. The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.
