About the role

Responsibilities

• Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
• Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders, and prepare patient charts.
• Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
• Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in‑office procedures; prepare and administer medications/immunizations.
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment to meet infection‑control standards.
• Ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.
• Carry out both administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider.
• Help patients feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the visit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or Practical Nursing program.
• Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient‑care experience as a MA/LPN obtained through professional work or completion of student clinical rotations.
• Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (required) or as a Licensed Practical Nurse (preferred).

Skills

• Knowledge of principles and skills needed for a practical nurse or medical assistant to provide patient care.
• Familiarity with medical equipment and instruments used to administer patient care.
• Understanding of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to foster work and patient relationships.
• Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy.
• Strong prioritization skills to meet changing demands in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in the use of EMR systems.
