About the role

This position involves coordinating and monitoring the quality of health assistant services, as well as the provision of medical services. The role includes assisting providers with direct patient care, executing standing orders for medication refills and tests, and providing routine preventive services.

Responsibilities

• Placing patients in exam rooms, recording vital signs, current complaints, and pertinent history
• Assisting the provider in treatment of patients
• Preparing exam rooms and instruments, as appropriate to anticipate utilization
• Cleaning common office space and treatment areas, as necessary
• Keeping inventory and preparing purchase requisitions for submission to purchasing agent for needed supplies
• Striving to learn other ancillary duties, such as X-Ray techniques, laboratory procedures, and, if necessary, some billing procedures
• Triage walk-in and call-in clients as appropriate for patient care and safety
• Keeping patient records; completing appropriate forms and reports; providing appropriate documentation; adhering to patient confidentiality
• Providing health education and counseling to patients and family members in provider instruction and treatment program
• Coordinating nursing care plans with other team members
• Coordinating with case manager the referral of high-risk patients and families for special services, team management, and tracking the patient's referral (e.g., abnormal lab results)
• Observing signs and symptoms, documenting and reporting reactions of the treatment to the provider
• Providing population health to patients to improve the health of an entire human population
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• Licensed as RN in the State of Missouri
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
