Responsibilities

• Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
• Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders and prepare patient charts.
• Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
• Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in‑office procedures and prepare and administer medications/immunizations.
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards.
• Ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.
• Perform pre‑visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assist with procedures, provide discharge instructions, and carry out administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider.
• Help patients feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the visit.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or Practical Nursing program.
• Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a MA/LPN obtained through professional MA/LPN work experience or completion of student clinical rotations.
• Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (required); current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (preferred).
