About the Role

A Certified Medication Aide (CMA) works under the direct supervision of the charge nurse. The charge nurse will follow up with the CMA to ensure medication administration (med pass) is completed timely and accurately to maintain the highest degree of quality resident care.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Shift Report.
  • Perform routine patient care in accordance with Federal, State, Company, and Center nursing policies and procedures.
  • Employ preventative and restorative measures.
  • Follow hand washing techniques and other infection control guidelines during patient care.
  • Report promptly any change in patient condition or other concerns to the Patient Care Supervisor.
  • Follow charting guidelines for PRN documentation.
  • Report medication reorders and related tasks.
  • Participate in all assigned meetings, training, education, or in-services as required.
  • Inventory drugs on designated forms as they arrive.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English through both speech and writing.
  • Previous patient care experience preferred.
  • Current certification for Medication Aide.
