Responsibilities
- Assemble and install helm station components according to work instructions, specifications, and production requirements.
- Mount and secure gauges, switches, steering components, control panels, electronics, and related hardware.
- Route, connect, and secure electrical wiring and harnesses for helm systems.
- Install and test accessories such as stereos, speakers, GPS units, fish finders, lighting controls, and other customer-selected options.
- Read and follow assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and work orders.
- Verify proper fit, finish, functionality, and appearance of installed components.
- Troubleshoot and correct minor assembly, wiring, and installation issues as needed.
- Perform operational testing of helm controls, electrical systems, and installed electronics.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Carry out self-inspections to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one year of manufacturing, assembly, marine, or electrical installation experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, hand tools, and assembly processes.
- Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, and work orders.
- Basic math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.
