About the role

The Club Manager will oversee gym operations to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience and financial success. You will lead a team of employees in a positive, motivating manner, with a focus on training and development. This is a full-time role requiring 42 hours per week, with a schedule that may exceed 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, including nights, weekends, holidays, and potential travel.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed individual sales goals and contribute to club monthly and yearly goals.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing staff, including Member Service Representatives, Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, Trainers, and Custodians.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff adheres to superior customer service guidelines.
  • Staff Management:
    • Schedule staff and ensure all shifts are covered.
    • Lead by example, train, and coach direct reports to align with PF’s values and goals.
    • Process weekly/bi-weekly employee payroll.
    • Resolve employee issues, manage disciplinary actions, and handle terminations.
  • Front Desk Activities:
    • Answer phones and assist callers with questions.
    • Check members into the system and facilitate new member sign-ups.
    • Conduct tours for prospective members.
    • Address member requests, issues, and questions.
  • Ensure prompt opening/closing of the gym and oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
  • Ensure safety of employees, members, and club property; report equipment repairs in a timely manner.
  • Manage marketing efforts, ensuring staff is trained on promotions.
  • Authorize expenditures, refunds, and daily bank deposits.
  • Prepare HR-related forms and send them to the Corporate Payroll Team.
  • Track and report statistics (weekly, monthly, annually).
  • Provide backup support for absent employees.
  • Sales:
    • Establish and communicate sales objectives and goals with the team.
    • Assist in forecasting annual sales goals.
    • Share best sales practices and evaluate team performance.
    • Address underperformance and create action plans to meet sales goals.
    • Oversee daily, short-term, and long-term sales goals across the region.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Passion for helping others and commitment to excellent service.
  • Previous management experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
  • Current CPR Certification preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Confident problem-solver.

Physical Demands

  • Continual standing and moving throughout the club during shifts.
  • Frequent communication in person or on the phone to exchange information.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Occasional exposure to toxic chemicals.
  • Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
  • Moving in different positions, including bending and twisting, to accomplish tasks.

Pay

Placement within the established pay range will be determined based on relevant skills, years and depth of experience, performance history, market competitiveness, and geographic economic conditions.
