Job Summary

The Certified LPN at North Mississippi Health Services plays a vital role in providing a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care, adhering to hospital/departmental policies and procedures.

Job Functions

• Provides a wide variety of nursing functions to support the medical plan of care in compliance with hospital/departmental policies and procedures.
• Documentation: Assist in maintaining patient records through daily nursing summaries, Medicare charting, acute care charting and accurate medication administration records. Contributes to nursing care plan.
• Teaching: Provides patient/family teaching necessary for continuing care during and after discharge.
• IV Therapy: Performs IV therapy utilizing hospital guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Licenses and Certifications: LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure, CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation.

Work Experience

• Maintains knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care.
• Must complete 24-32 hours orientation MIS computer training.
• Must organize and prioritize work assignments.
• Delegates assignments appropriately to nursing assistants.
• Aids new employees in their orientation.
• Projects a positive image of the unit to all customers.
• Maintains a good working relationship with medical staff, unit personnel and all ancillary departments.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills.
