About Us
Clow Valve Company is a leading manufacturer of water valves and fire hydrants, and a division of McWane Corporation with sister companies in the US and Canada. Established in Oskaloosa in 1909, Iowa Valve Company merged with Eddy Valve in 1970 under Clow Corporation, becoming Clow Valve Company after McWane Incorporated's acquisition in 1985. Today, Clow manufactures 2” through 48” diameter Resilient Seated valves and dry and wet barrel fire hydrants, utilizing state-of-the-art technology in both the Machine Shop and Metal Casting Facility. The Machine Shop has been ISO 9000 certified since 2002, and the Foundry is recognized as a Voluntary Protection Program Merit Site by OSHA.
Responsibilities
- Loads scrap metal into brass melting furnace.
- Utilizes ladle to transfer metal.
- Transfers metal to the pouring line.
- Monitors temperature of melting furnace.
- Removes slag from furnace.
- Performs clean up and other duties as required.
Requirements
- Heavy lifting/carrying greater than 50 lbs.
- Frequent lifting greater than 40 times per hour.
- Bending, twisting, and standing for greater than 8 hours.
- Ability to read, write, and understand training and instruction.
- Ability to work in extreme heat.
- Must be able to work around moving machinery including ladle, crane, and forklift.
- Must be able to utilize proper PPE including: respirator, metatarsal guarded boots, eye protection, hearing protection, aluminized hood, and leggings.
Pay
Starting Wage: $27.57; Qualified Wage: $28.21
Schedule
3rd Shift: 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM
